We offer a range of services with the aim of providing you with a comprehensive description of your aerosol system. This target is reached by choosing the right tools of our suite of state-of-the-art methods we excel in.

Modelling Services

Modelling Services

For the aerosol particle modelling, we use FLUENT Fine Particle Module developed by Particle Dynamics GmbH in co-operation with University of Helsinki and several other instances. We also have long-standing expertise in the application of detailed 0-dimensional box modelling of aerosol processes.

Aerosol dynamic process modelling

Aerosol particle populations undergo a variety of chemical and physical changes that depend strongly on the environment the aerosol is in. To understand these changes, numerical modelling of the processes is essential. We use our state-of-the-art knowledge of formation and growth of particles, loss of particles by deposition and coagulation/agglomeration as well as the chemical evolution of particulate matter to provide you with a detailed description of how the aerosol in your application behaves – and why.

Aerosol transportation modelling

Aerosol particles move with the air; sometimes this is beneficial, while sometimes you want to avoid transporting particulate matter. We use our expertise to show you where, how, and why your suspended particles transport – whether in your office or your industrial process.

We provide a comprehensive suite of measurement services for concentration and size distribution measurements and laboratory testing of aerosol filtration and generation methods.

Particle concentration and size distribution measurements.

Aerosol particles come in a multitude of sizes, compositions and shapes and their concentration can vary by factors of hundreds of thousands. Characterization of aerosol concentrations and particle size distributions is the key for understanding aerosol behaviour: choosing the right measurement technique is essential. We provide you with size distribution and concentration measurements that are specially tailored for the aerosol you are working with, be it in industrial, indoor or outdoor conditions.

Laboratory testing of aerosol filtration and generation methods.

Whether you want to produce or remove aerosol particles, you want to know how effective you are at doing this. We use our aerosol characterisation suite to give you hard data on how exactly your system – for example a filter, or a generator – changes the aerosol size distribution.

Nanoparticle safety services

Developing a framework to analyse safe levels of aerosol particles in occupational environments in co-operation with authorities is one of the cornerstones of providing nanoparticle safety consulting. We aim to provide information of potential hazards and methods to reduce concentrations to the safe levels. This work aims to produce a Fine Particle Certificate, which is based on best available information on the adverse health effects of nanoparticles.
